Kiira and James, San Francisco shoot.

Last weekend Carla and I were in San Francisco for an engagement shoot for Nicole and Matias. So I contacted my cousin James and asked if he and his wife Kiira would be up for a photo shoot on Sunday., which James reminded me it was Easter, (oops) but they were still up for the adventure.
We went to the a park where the "painted ladies" houses aka the Full House were. And YES I watched Full house but it wasn't one of my favs!!!

The "Painted ladies" AKA Full House. YES I watched the show but Airwolf was on air around the same time and trumped Full house, sorry! But it was still cool to see these houses.
San Fran city hall is beautiful. Its larger than our Capitol building.
There were these crazy looking trees in front of city hall. The noon time light was tough, which Carla quickly threw out a few pointers. I then began to realize why she always schedules e- shoots later in the day, noon time light sucks.
Next stop were these cools graffiti walls that James knew about. The graffiti was cool but usually where you find spray painted walls, its sometimes not the best of locations. It reminded me of scenes out of the Grand Theft Auto video game. Sketchy people walking all around, especially the guys standing a few feet away from us selling. And they weren't selling girl scout cookies!!! if ya know what I mean

Gotta have the sexy shoe shot
What I like about this location is that the San Francisco Giants baseball stadium is about 30 feet to the right of this shot.

We ended the day at the beach, which I must say was AWESOME!!!! There's something to be said about that west coast sun.

There are so many pictures from this location is was hard to pick my favs. The sunset was so beautiful and light was OMG!!!!! awesome.
James and Kiira it was awesome seeing you guys again. I had such an awesome time hanging out with you guys and seeing the family again. Talk to you soon!

Nicole and Matias, San Francisco Engagement Shoot

Last week Carla and I went to San Francisco to meet up with Nicole and Matias for their engagement shoot. I don't even know where to begin with this post. All I can say is that it was a blast from the beginning to end. Nicole and Matias were so much fun to hang out with and were so easy to photograph. I felt like I was hanging out with long time friends taking us on a tour of the city.

Apparent disregard for the rules!!

AHHH, a train is coming!! or was is going??

The golden gate bridge
The light in their home was awesome.

I really loved the light in California

I'm so pumped that their wedding is only a few weeks away. I know its gonna be a blast.

Tara and Mark, North Hampton, MA engagement shoot

BLOGGING FRENZY!!!
I have a lot of posts to catch up on so I'm planning a machine gun style of blogging for the next few post.

Tara and Mark's E-shoot in North Hampton MA.  They had this cool turtle in their apartment that was very curious about what was going on, so why not try a ring shot with him.
We walked through the city stopping at different places along the way.  A few of my favorite places were a walking path/dike and a corn field.

I really liked the super blue skies we had that day.

A random cool spiral staircase.

Aiden modeling debut!!!

A few weeks ago I had scheduled a modeling shoot with Aiden.  We went through his wardrobe and picked out a few outfits for his session.  Aiden wanted to go with a hat theme cuz he was insecure about his stunted hair growth.  Here are a few of our favorites.

Hilarious Tree man

The streets of downtown San Francisco are filled with tourist and performers. Walking around I saw all types of dancers, musicians, artists, fast talking shoe shiners and homeless people with funny signs.
Some of these people have such amazing talent and clearly spent a lot of time perfecting their performances. Here are two guys painted in silver just waiting to have tourist to put money in their cups for them to dance. It was pretty cool, and they obviously spent a lot of time prepping for their big performance. BUT then there's this other guy we came across. I call him tree man.

TREE MAN was very original and clever. There was no special equipment needed just a milk create, some branches (with leaves) and a hunters mentality. Hunters mentality you ask??? well this tree man/ performer hunts out his unsuspecting prey and BAM he attacks. Its so entertaining to watch this happen, along with the other 50 or so people watching. Whats even funner is that the innocent bystanders still don't notice the trap their walking into. Check out below what I'm talking about.

This lady was great. Not only does she look at the strange bush/tree but still gets startled by the old fashion BOO.

I had to throw this guy money for doing this. I could of watched him all day, photographing peoples reactions.

MORE SAN FRAN PICS TO COME!!!!

Jamie and Chris, Saybrook Point Inn CT

A few weeks ago I had the first wedding of the year with Carla and Katie. It was at the Saybrook Point Inn in Connecticut.

I really like the back of the chairs in Jamie's room and decided to try and make a ring shot out of it.

So Carla tasked me to take photos of the guys, while she photographed the girls. Needless to say these guys were wicked cool and willing to do anything.

Such a cool spot for photos! On the side of a convenience store to boot.

Check out Katie and Carla's blogs for more from this wedding.

Sage and Young wedding at Peabody Essex Museum, MA

A couple of weeks back Carla and I had the priveledge of shooting with the uber talented Shyla, from Shyla Photography in Boston, MA. Now, I had never met Shyla before, but her warm smile and spirit put me at complete ease, which made for a great day of shooting (not to mention I didn't have to take orders from Carla.....although she tried).

We had the opportunity of shooting Young and his groomsmen in the morning. This is something that I'm used to doing, but I always try to push myself to find new and interesting ideas. Young's apartment building was full of crazy littles nooks -n- grannies.

Young was so easy going. I'm not convinced that he was even a little nervous..can't you tell by his smile!
I really loved when Sage peeked out at Young right before seeing each other for the first time.

I love how excited Sage was as she walked up to meet Young for the first time.

I really had a fun time at this event.  Be sure to check out
 Shyla and Carla's blogs.

Jamie and Chris E shoot, Stanford CT

On Saturday I had my first engagement shoot of 09 with Carla in Stamford, Ct. Jamie and Chris were just great. We started off in a cool beach club area in Rowayton, Ct and later moved our way into a cool shop area in Stamford. Carla said it right with Jamie and her many faces, she was awesome and seemed to love being in front of the camera's. Here are some of my favs from the day. Can't wait for the wedding!

I know!!, its been awhile

I know its been a long time since I posted to blogger, but facebook just makes it a lot easier to do!! Aiden just had surgery last Friday and is recovering well. He still has swelling to his face and its just starting to bruise around his cheek. But it doesn't seem to faze him at all since he's still all smiles.

ashley and jordan engagement shoot Hartford CT

Last Saturday Carla and I had the great pleasure of shooting Ashley and Jordan's engagement shoot in downtown Hartford. Ashely is actually close friends with my wife Kim, who will be in the wedding party! I don't know how they became friends? Maybe it's because Ashley wanted a motherly figure in class (they went to the same college). Ashley and Jordan were a lot of fun, and great sports for dealing with the bitter cold weather. It was awesome shooting in Hartford, something I haven't done yet!!! I have been to New York, Boston, and Rhode Island for engagement shoots but never in Hartford.
It was really cool shooting down near the Connecticut river and the plaza with all the x-mas lights.

I really like this picture and Jordan's scarf!!!!

I've probably driven by this building a thousand times but I never paid any mind to it.

I used MY super wide lens to get this shot on the walkway over 84.

Carla found this horror movie/ killer's dream spot location under the highway near the river. I could just imagine what Ashley and Jordan were thinking when Carla got all freaked out about this spot.

erica and paul, E-shoot

Carla and I had the pleasure of shooting erica and paul for their engagement shoot, just weeks before the big day!!!! I've been to Paul's house before and knew he and Erica had a x-mas tree farm, but they recently added chickens to the mix. I had a lot of fun finding fun things around their home to shoot.

I guess it wouldn't be a true farm unless their was a red wooden fence. Erica quickly found out that Carla had a shoe fetish and fueled the fire by putting on the red heels.

Of course I had to make an attempt of a ring shot with the chickens. I think there is a picture on Carla's blog of me getting this shot

It was really awesome to get them onto the roof of their barn. Something I guess these two do on a regular.

Pauls's sign he made for his girls.

This one reminds me of one of the chickens from the Muppet's

cari and steve, sharpe hill vineyard and Uconn

Last weekend Carla and I went to Sharpe Hill Vineyard to meet with Caria and Steve for the beginning of their e-shoot.  This place was really really nice and apparently very popular, since they were taking dinner reservations for November.  Cari and Steve were awesome infront of the cameras.  They were soo nice and up for anything which made it really easy to get great pictures.

Carla had the great idea of doing a ring shot on the grapes, she swears weren't harmed during the making of "her" shot.  So she stole my macro lens and left me to one-up her to make this picture with a little flare.  Grapes+ grape vines+ a huge ring + little sun flare = : )

Uconn stadium..  Really cool place to shoot.

This shot was taken on the steps leading to Cari and Steve's dorm.  Carla has a picture on her blog of me getting this shot.

The sun on the patio of the library was awesome, I couldn't resist the shadows.
This picture was taken from the same location on the library patio. I really like the fact that you can get so many different perspectives from one location
So to "END" this blog post, I guess a little "reverse-psychology" by Carla, wagering me not to post this shot.. HA HA HA, C'mon those who know me KNOW that I can't resist opportunity shots like this.

christine and mike at the Hilton Hotel, Hartford

I know I'm a little behind in posting, but I'm trying really hard to catch up to the "blog master" Ten Eyck. Carla and I shot this wedding a few weeks back. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from Christine and Mike's wedding.

I had alot of time to play and do some cool ring shots. These are some of my favs, which I realized later I must of been on some King and Queen theme.

Christine had this cool doll house which worked out great for a ring shot.

Mike and his mom getting ready for the big day.

Caught Mike loading up the limo with scooby snacks for after the wedding.

Hartford City Hall is such an awesome place for pictures. There are so many areas in the building for great pics

Let me just say that this cake, OH MY!!! This is the biggest wedding cake I have ever seen. WOW!!!!

Ali and Anthony, Saint Clements castle

Ali and Anthony's wedding at Saint Clements castle, which is now one of my favorite places to shoot. I had an awesome time and Ali and Anthony were so nice.
I really like this set up with Anthony and his son AJ's jacket.
One of the things I was tasked to do was to make sure to capture the rainy weather that we were having. So I grab the rings and brainstormed, something which is very painful for me to do. I really liked how this shot came out.

Ali and her father before the ceremony.

I thought this was an awesome idea for the wedding.

Jamie and Steve engagement/wedding

A few weekends ago, Carla and I went to NYC to meet with Jamie and Steve for their engagement shoot. Jamie and Steve are from Moscow and were in the states before they got married a week later.
Jamie and Steve's engagement shoot in NYC, near Columbia University. These two were so nice and awesome to hang out with.
On our travels around the University we found this really cool wall.

The house Jamie got ready in before the wedding had these cool skeleton key holes in the doors. After several shots I finally got something, man it was hard trying to shoot Jamie's dress through the key hole.

Jordan finally gets his Bro

Jordan is sooooo excited about the arrival of his new brother. He couldn't wait to get out of school today to hold him. I really liked this picture of the two of them together today.

Ending to a long day

Here are some shots from the hospital. It was a nervous and scary time for us both. We waited and waited, it felt like I was in line for the scariest roller coaster. I was nervous, excited, nervous then excited again. Needless to say the waiting sucked, but it was all worth it in the end when I was finally able to hold my son.

Kim hooked up to some crazy monitors

Shes gonna kill me for this but how could I resist with the old butt hanging out of the hospital gown picture, c'mon does that ever get old, LOL.
( I just had to blur out a certain area, OR ELSE!!!)

Heres Kim realizing it was a HUGE waste of time doing the hair in the morning. You girls and your hair, gotta look good for the delivery.

It was cool they let me bring in the camera, but I had to stay behind the wall : (
I was amazed with all the stuff going on in the room, it was crazy

Doctors hard at work.

The final weigh in, 8lbs and 12oz. A Keeper, must be from Kim's side of the family

The EXTREMELY PROUD brother. Jordan couldn't wait to hold Aiden.

My mom finally gets to meet her third grandson

Kim's mom gettin in a work out holding the bruiser : )

Kim's dad finally gets his hands on his second grandson.

This was a long, but awesome day. I can't wait to take more pictures.

jessica and eric engagment shoot, Hartford

This past Sunday Carla and I had an engagement shoot with Jessica and Eric. We ventured out around Hartford, areas which Carla said she has never shot before. Our first stop was the Union Train Station in downtown Hartford. So like Carla said she usually gives her clients a little direction during the shoot, but not this one. I think Jessica and Eric took Carla by surprise, they need no direction and jumped right into it.

After leaving the train station we found this cool red wall next to Upper on the Rocks. After rocking this wall for awhile I caught Carla spray painting her logo onto the brick, she had stencils made. She told me its apart of her new marketing plan.

Yankee and Red Sox's fan getting married, who would of thought.

The tunnel/ walk way, next to the train station, had some really nice light and we got some awesome shots from there.

Our next stop was a parking garage where Carla really wanted to use the crazy storm clouds as a back drop. Jessica and Eric were great coming with a crazy amount of outfits for the shoot.

Our last stop was at the Marriott hotel in Hartford.

Yes, yes, yes I love dramatic lighting. This was such a simple set up, in a parking garage under a light and such an awesome result.

Congrats to both Jessica and Eric. Can't wait for your wedding next year.

melissa and dave wedding at the village at boulder ridge

This past Saturday Melissa and Dave got hitched at the Village at boulder ridge. It turned out to be such a great day for the wedding and reception. The day started out a little early for me but once I had my fix of starbucks I was good to go.Carla and I shot some of the details early on in Melissa's mothers house. There was soooo much candy everywhere I had to do something with it, besides eat it.

I really like the clouds in the picture.

The beginning of the ceremony was very emotional for everyone. I love this picture of Dave wiping Melissa's tears away.

Melissa's expression is so awesome.

Such angry flare!!! I didn't realize she had super powers to shoot laser beams from her forehead

These zip lines at Boulder Ridge look like so much fun. Its too bad I had to shoot, I would of been all over this.. Ya right, I think there was a weight limit : )

A very competitive game of volleyball

Here's Melissa's mom gettin down to Mustang Sally. The lights the DJ had were awesome to work with. I really got some cool stuff.

jennifer and paul wedding at the old state house and hartford golf club

Jen and Paul were such a fun couple to hang out with. From the engagement shoot to the wedding you could just see how much they were in love with each other. They got married at the Old State House which I thought was a pretty cool place to get married and shoot in. After the wedding the weather totally cooperated and we were able to go to Elizabeth Park for some wedding party pictures. After that we ended up at the Hartford Golf Club, a great facility with awesome staff. Please check out Carla's blog here!

Shoes!!!!!

Jen and her mother gettin all done up for the wedding.

These two were so adorable. After she got some make up put on, her face just filled with joy.

The dress was so beautiful.

Jen reading a card written by Paul

The old state was such an awesome place to get married. The room was fill was just beautiful light

Carla took the flower girls to this location for a few pictures. Apparently the little flower girl knew who the better photographer was..ahahahahahaha : )

Jen really wanted a picture with the collie, So Jen kidnapped the dog for a few shots. It would of really been funny if Paul appeared in a white puff of smoke after the kiss.

Future waiter... which I hope someone left him at least 20%.

The floor is lava. C'mon everyone knows that game right!

It as really great to meet Jen and Paul. It turns out, I cant remember if I mentioned this in their engagement session, but Paul and I might have known each other since we were really young. It turns out his cousin lives a few houses down from where I grew up, how small of a world. We were probably at the same birthday parties, pretty cool : )
Congrats to you both!!

iphone meets pavement

Well,well,well......
At least I had this thing for a week before I managed to break it. For all those iPhone users out there I HIGHLY recommend the "armour titanium" covering for the phone. I went cheap and had the "soft rubber skin" if you will, and lets just say that it work out great. It was a 2 foot fall from getting out the car which sent my Friday night into a downward spiral. I saw this thing in slow motion leave my hands and slowly float toward the ground, striking the corner of the phone perfectly. And all I did was just laugh out loud, but really crying on the inside.

So as I reached down and flipped over the phone, I discovered a small note was left on the screen for me.......
But I got to give it Apple, the phone still works fine touch screen and all, except for the few shards of glass that get impaled into my ear when answering the phone

michele and brian wedding at Garrison, NY

This past Saturday Carla and I had the honor of shooting Michele and Brian's wedding at the Garrison in NY.  This place had amazing views and one of the best sunsets.

Carla told me that the colors for the wedding were pink and yellow.  So we decided to pick up some jelly belly candy and do some cool stuff.  Plus after you get done who doesn't like a few jelly beans.

Michele's grandmother seeing her for the first time.
Michele and Brian decided they were going to see each other before the wedding.  We had Brian checking out the awesome views while Michele walked up from behind.

These center pieces were awesome

This is one of my top funniest pictures ever!! I couldn't resist posting this one.
Check out this cake!!!!

CONGRATS to Michele and Brian
